My name is Amanda Blackwood and I’m a trauma survivor. 

Not just trauma, but human trafficking, child sexual assault, rape, torture, and more. I knew that I couldn’t let my past define me, but I also didn’t want it to exist as nothing more than a nightmare, designed to haunt me for the rest of my life. It needed to have a positive purpose, too. That’s why I started this podcast and wrote the autobiography “Custom Justice.” 

In Season Three (September 2022) and moving forward, it’s time to spotlight the other incredible people I’ve met who have also triumphed over past tragedy in hope that we may guide others into their own forms of healing. Stay tuned for some of the most courageous stories you’ve never heard.

Mason Carlisle RETURNS! Mason first came on the podcast in September of 2022 for Suicide Awareness month. For the final Friday of September I introduced this remarkable young woman who has faced and fought so much suicide in her life. Mason Carlisle is a child sexual abuse survivor, child abuse survivor, she lost her father to an overdose, walked in on her brother's attempt and lost 8 people to suicide. Mason just published a book about PTSD and trauma. It’s a fictional ya novel centered around a school shooting survivor. We also discuss how her outlook on this endeavor changed when the most recent school shooting occurred. We talk about trauma, suicide, and our mutual love of and Bruce Willis.
